BBC Three broadband premier gets 35,000

The first episode of BBC comedy The Mighty Boosh has been viewed 35,000 times during the first week of a new broadband trial.

BBC Three is making The Mighty Boosh available online a week ahead of transmisson, making it the first UK channel to broadcast its content online before it is shown on tv.

All the episodes will remain online for seven days after the final programme of the series goes out.

Stuart Murphy, BBC Three controller, said: ‘It's a natural progression for us to make our programmes available on broadband. Crucially, it can deliver a television experience whenever people want it.'

It is expected more whole programmes will be streamed in the coming months.
