New Years Resolutions

Your New Year Resolutions

New Year resolutions are all the same, easy to make, hard to keep. Share your secrets and send us your resolutions along with your hints and tips on how to keep them.

After the one big long indulgence known as Christmas most of us start the New Year armed with a long list of New Year resolutions. The most common of these being; to quit smoking, to lose weight, to quit drinking, to spend time with friends and family or to get out of debt. But it's always the same story, New Year resolutions are notoriously 'easy to make and hard to keep'.

You start at the local gym and you're thinking, 'well I've paid the fees now so I've got to go', so you go and by the end of January you've lost a few pounds so you are feeling positive. You then meet a few friends at the gym and decide that after the weekly session you'll have a drink in the bar to unwind. You soon realise that the unwinding bit is much more fun than the gym session, so you miss a couple of sessions in favour of the pub and by March the new years resolution of getting fit is a distant memory....

So how do we keep them? This is where you, the people of Cornwall come in. We want you to send us your New Years resolutions along with your helpful hints and tips on how to keep them.

'My new year resolution this year is to drink more water. I know I don't drink enough. I don't really have any tips, i'm just going to make sure I take a litre bottle to work with me everyday'.
Ann Kensal, St Austell

'I am getting married later this year, so losing 2 stone for my wedding is even more important to me than any other new years resolution. I'm going to aim for a 1lb a week which i think is achievable and that way I won't be disappointed.
Lindsey Jameson, Bodmin
