Friday 6th June 2003 A ‘Peach’ of a children’s show
| | | A peach - not necessarily a giant one though |
| | Roald Dahl’s very first children’s book and one of his most popular stories, James And The Giant Peach, has been adapted for the stage and is coming to The Courtyard this June. |
| | | This show broke box office records at the Old Rep theatre in Birmingham last Christmas and has played to enthusiastic audiences on its Spring/Summer tour this year.
Perfect for children of four years old and upwards, James And The Giant Peach is one of Dahl’s less ‘scary’ stories packed with fun and adventure.
The story tells the amazing tale of James, a lonely young boy who lives with Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker, two of the most horrible aunts in England.
One day an accident with a bag full of magic near an old peach tree makes some truly incredible things start to happen James’s adventures begin and take him both up in the sky and across the sea.
He meets many wonderful insect characters and together they face danger and difficulties with a giant peach.
James and the Giant Peach was Roald Dahl's first book and remains one of the most popular he ever wrote.
