1. She is a two-time Ballon d'Or winner

Putellas is widely regarded as one of women's football's greatest players.
In 2022, she became the first two-time winner of the Ballon d'Or Féminin - awarded to the best best female footballer of the year, having also scooped the award in 2021.
In fact, Putellas also became the first football player in history to win the Ballon d'Or Féminin, the Best Fifa Women's Player AND Uefa Women's Player of the Year in the same season.
2. She's won the World Cup with Spain

Putellas is one of the most decorated players in the women's game, having won a huge number of individual and team awards.
She has represented Spain at three World Cups and helped her country win the tournament for the first time in 2023, beating England in the final.
Putellas has also reached 100 caps for the Spanish national team, becoming the first player to hit that milestone.
3. She is a Barcelona legend

The 32-year-old left Barcelona after 14 years in May this year, after a glittering career with the Spanish giants.
During her time at the club, she helped them win an incredible 38 major trophies, including 10 league titles and four Champions Leagues.
The midfielder scored a club record 232 goals in 507 appearances, and is second on the all-time appearance list for Barcelona.
4. She is known for her skills and creativity on the pitch

Putellas usually plays in midfield and is famous for her passing, control and ability to create chances for her teammates.
She is also a player who can score important goals, making her also a threat in attack.
At last summer's Euros, she was involved in more goals than any other player, and created the most chances in the tournament.
5. Her move is a huge moment for London City Lionesses

Putellas has joined on a free transfer, having allowed her Barcelona contract to run out, and is believed to be London City's highest-paid player.
The London City Lionesses - not to be confused with the nickname of the England women's team - only gained promotion to the WSL last season.
Since then, they have made a number of big-name signings such as midfielder Grace Geyoro who joined last September in a world record £1.4 million deal.
And it seems Putellas is also excited to get started with her new club.
She said: "I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter with London City Lionesses.
"I look forward to making an impact on the pitch as we challenge for titles," she added.
