Manchester City have agreed a deal with Nottingham Forest to sign Elliot Anderson for a club record £116m.

The England midfielder is set to have a medical before completing his move to Etihad Stadium.

City sources insist the fee for Anderson is £116m, which would be a club record, with no bonuses attached. Other sources claim the deal is worth up to £130m, which would represent a British record fee, eclipsing the £125m Liverpool paid Newcastle for striker Alexander Isak last summer.

Forest are now expected to sign two midfielders this summer and are interested in Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall, and Davide Frattesi of Inter Milan.

Martin: I identified two players, after the first games, that I thought would suit Forest. However, as both Kone (Canada) and Singo (Ivory Coast) were subsequently badly injured, I think I need to stop!

Tim: I know that this is pure fantasy but if I can dream...Lionel Messi - for all the obvious reasons. He has shown up on the big stage but can he do it in the Premier League on a wet Tuesday in Hull? Tell him we already have Dominguez and will sign any Argentinian of his choosing.

Rob: Would be nice to secure the services of Elliot Anderson for next season. We can dream, eh?
