Manipulative Hubert seduces Juliana who falls under his spell and soon she is bankrolling him. When his toxic behaviour forces her to kick him out he blackmails her with a secret recording.
Juliana is a skilled pastry chef originally from Brazil but now settled in London. She meets Hubert in a bar in Soho, while not immediately attracted to him, Juliana ends up falling under his spell. Hubert is a talented pianist with a degree in psychology. He is also a master manipulator and a regular drug user. He develops a grip on Juliana which she herself cannot comprehend.
Hubert uses his power to get Juliana to bankroll him and she pays for his taxis, drinks, nights out and drug habit. Juliana discovers Hubert is stealing from her and finally tries to break up with him. In desperation Hubert blackmails her claiming he will send a video to her elderly father in Brazil.
This triggers off a memory for Juliana, of a torrid night months earlier when Hubert persuaded her to take a large amount of ketamine. Juliana searches her laptop and finds the video Hubert is referring to and she is horrified.
While she was unconscious Hubert had tied her up and filmed himself sexually assaulting her. Juliana was unaware of the attack – until now. But this is evidence, and she contacts the police to trap Hubert.
