Coleen meets James online. He’s a firefighter, they plan to marry and he’s had a vasectomy. Coleen soon discovers she’s pregnant, the wedding never existed and neither did James’ heroic job.
Mother of two, Coleen meets firefighter, James online. He showers her with gifts and statements of love - he is so proud to be in a relationship with Coleen he wants everyone to know. Quickly he charms her family and embeds himself into their life. Coleen, her twin sister, Karen and her partner Ryan become a solid gang of four.
Coleen falls pregnant, she already has two teenage daughters and has second thoughts. James then offers to have a vasectomy, which he does without hesitation. But two months later, Coleen somehow finds herself pregnant again, she can’t believe this is possible so soon after James’ vasectomy. She decides to keep the baby.
James then surprises Coleen by proposing to her in front of her daughters. He has the whole wedding planned and Coleen feels she has to say yes, even though they have never discussed marriage. A business venture follows which Coleen’s sister Karen invests her life savings into.
As the wedding approaches James announces he has testicular cancer so the wedding must be postponed. Meanwhile Coleen’s brother-in-law Ryan discovers the business the family has invested in does not exist. So what is real about 'Fireman James'?
