Rafiki Thabo Foundation

Education, a human right, is critical to breaking the poverty cycle. Yet millions cannot afford school or college fees. Rafiki Thabo supports vulnerable children in Kenya, Uganda and Lesotho through education, opening doors to a brighter future.

From rubbish tip to public office: meet Ayiesa
Born into poverty and hunger, unable to join his friends in school, determined and resourceful, young Ayiesa self-studied for school exams. With Rafiki Thabo’s support he graduated from university and now works with the Kenyan government.

Empowering through education

Empowering through education
UNESCO data suggests around 1.4 million children in Kenya are not in secondary school. We support education by paying an average of £270 a year for one of our scholars to attend secondary school in Kenya.

The ripple effect of your donation

The ripple effect of your donation
Ayiesa’s story shows how education does not simply transform one life. It creates ripple effects that can change families, communities and generations. Ayiesa is not alone – many of our graduates report stories of paying it forward!
