Jazz across the continents

Alyn Shipton presents jazz records of all styles as requested by you.

Presenter Alyn Shipton marks the 50th anniversary of Australian radio’s Jazztrack with big band fireworks from trumpeter James Morrison, and celebrates British trumpet icon Henry Lowther ahead of his 85th birthday with a look at a brand-new double LP alongside the London Jazz Orchestra.

The show also features a tribute to traditional jazz stalwart Tom Osborne via the Humphrey Lyttelton band, freshly unearthed 1965 Bill Evans trio recordings from Finland, brand-new releases from saxophonists Dave and Judith O’Higgins and vocalist Heidi Martin, and a legendary, atmospheric 10-minute trip to the Village Gate with flautist Herbie Mann.
