Newark 27
Quench your thirst for antiques by watching this episode from the East Midlands, with presenter Eric Knowles and experts Izzie Balmer and Nick Hall.
Eric Knowles meets a collector with a thirst for preserving brewery history. In a converted garage in Nottinghamshire, Richard Percival has 1,300 beer trays, dating back more than 100 years. Made of heavy steel with ornate designs, they’re all striking examples of British advertising – and Eric Knowles has arranged a surprise visit for him, to recognise his record-breaking collection!
In nearby Newark, two teams hope their items will serve up a profit when they go shopping with their antiques experts. Nick Hall is browsing bargains with the reds, Gary and Ian, and Izzie Balmer is with the blues, Joe and Hazel. With 60 minutes on the clock, the red team spots a pot with a rim made by a well-known silversmith and decide it’s one to think about. Meanwhile, the blues are mixing things up with a pestle and mortar.
In Derbyshire, it’s almost time for last orders as auctioneer Charles Hanson gets the bids flowing.
