Connie McLaughlin asks: does the public sector need reshaped, reduced or cut? Also on the show, IVF and Messi.

PROGRAMME FOR GOVT
'A parliament of radical change'... that's what John Swinney has promised ahead of the unveiling of his programme for government in Holyrood. The first minister has made tackling the cost of living crisis is his priority, but has also placed public sector reform at the heart of this term. Connie asks: does the public sector need reshaped, reduced or cut? If something has to give, what should it be?

IVF
Last week the Scottish government announced a national review to consider single women should be given greater access to IVF on the NHS in Scotland. The review is due to be published in the summer of 2027 and has been welcomed by campaigners and some experts, but others have questioned whether it is the right way to prioritise funds in a cash-strapped NHS. Connie asks: should we be paying for single women to have children?

MESSI
Argentina great Lionel Messi has announced his retirement from international football, saying it was a decision that 'hurt' but 'the time has come'. The 39-year-old, who captained Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar in 2022, has scored 125 goals in 207 appearances, making him the country's all-time leading scorer and most-capped player. Connie asks: was Messi the greatest of all time? Did you ever see him play? And who’s the best player you’ve ever seen?

WHAT’S IN YOUR WARDROBE?
Have you got clothes at the back of your wardrobe that you hardly wear? According to an Oxfam survey, around a third of clothes in Scottish wardrobes went unworn last year and more than half of us regret at least one clothing purchase from the last year. Connie asks for the item in your wardrobe you’ve never worn? And what’s the oldest thing in there?
