Anna Handler, New Chief Conductor of Ulster Orchestra
John is joined by Ulster Orchestra Chief Conductor Anna Handler and Chief Executive Patrick McCarthy to discuss the orchestra's forthcoming season
John Toal follows a trail of unforgettable melodies stretching from the concert hall and opera house to the world of film music.
There is grandeur from Mussorgsky's Great Gate of Kiev and Verdi's Triumphal March from Aida, alongside favourite melodies from Puccini's La Bohème, Delibes' Lakmé, Mozart's Symphony No. 40 and Monteverdi's Vespers. Along the way, John also samples music by Florence Price, Clara Schumann and Amanda Röntgen-Maier, composers whose work is enjoying renewed appreciation today.
Plus, John is joined by Ulster Orchestra Chief Conductor Anna Handler and Chief Executive Patrick McCarthy to discuss the orchestra's forthcoming season and some of the highlights audiences can look forward to in the months ahead.
