John Coltrane at 100: An hour of Coltrane
Rounding off our week of John Coltrane centenary celebrations, Soweto shares music exclusively by Coltrane, reflecting on the sonic worlds the pioneering jazz artist created.
All this week, Soweto has been reflecting on the music and legacy of one of the most pioneering musicians and composers in jazz and 20th century music, John Coltrane.
To conclude the week, Soweto presents an hour of music exclusively by Coltrane, including some personal favourites and a particularly special release. Along the way, we will hear archival interviews from some of the fellow jazz greats who worked with Coltrane, including McCoy Tyner and Jimmy Cobb, as well as from the man himself.
