Pianist Elisabeth Brauss live from Wigmore Hall
Elizabeth Alker showcases the best performances from the UK and beyond, including a live concert from German pianist Elisabeth Brauss in Wigmore Hall in London.
Elizabeth Alker reflects on some recent highlights from the BBC orchestras and choirs, as they begin their new 2026/7 seasons. Today’s offering features baroque music from the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra playing Ravel’s Tombeau de Couperin.
Music from current BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists will feature throughout the week, with today showcasing music from the Astatine Trio and NOVO Quartet.
Our featured artist this week is Verità Baroque, an ensemble on a mission to contextualise baroque chamber music in the 21st Century.
Before that, the week begins with a live piano concert from London’s Wigmore Hall given by former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Elisabeth Brauss. She demonstrates her versatility with a diverse programme of music by Mozart, Bartók, Messiaen and Chopin.
