65th Anniversary

Pam Rhodes and Aled Jones are in St Martin-in-the-Fields church on Trafalgar Square to present a special episode to mark Songs of Praise’s 65th birthday. Together, they celebrate the past, present and future of one of the world’s longest-running television programmes and reflect on what continues to make Songs of Praise special to so many.

Aled and Pam delve into the archives of over 3,240 episodes, with highlights including Dolly Parton, Andrea Bocelli and Desmond Tutu, and when congregations packed out Old Trafford, the Millennium Stadium and Wimbledon Court Number 1.

Award-winning spoken word artist Dai Woolridge performs a poem in tribute to Songs of Praise, packed with clips from the programme's past. And through the wonders of modern technology, Aled duets with his friend and iconic former presenter, the late great Sir Harry Secombe.

With music from across the UK to celebrate the rich diversity of worship that has been at the heart of Songs of Praise for 65 years.
