**** Jan Morris joins 4 Extra’s 100 Club: Born 2nd October 1926, she died in 2020 aged 94.
Jan’s memoir about her gender reassignment in 1974, had helped to bring trans identity to public attention.
She was first castaway in 1983 when she spoke to Roy Plomley.
This time at the age of 75, she’s talking to Sue Lawley – recalling her earlier career as James Morris both in the army and as a newspaper foreign correspondent.
Jan also talks of her many, much-admired books and success as a travel writer.
