The Author
Born in Belfast, Lucy Caldwell is the award-winning author of four novels, several stage plays and radio dramas and the short story collections, Multitudes, Intimacies and Openings. She is also the editor of Being Various: New Irish Short Stories. In 2021 she won the BBC National Short Story Award with her story “All the People Were Mean and Bad.” Her most recent novel, These Days, won the 2023 Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction. Other awards include the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature and the George Devine Award.

He's won the Authors' Club First Novel Award, the Bass Ireland Arts Award for Literature, the Ewart-Biggs Memorial Prize, the American Ireland Fund Literary Award, the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year and the University of Ulster's McCrea Literary Award, three times. The Truth Commissioner was made into a feature film starring Roger Allam.
