with Tony Kearney

Travel writer Tharik Hussain tells Tony about his new book, Muslim Britain and Ireland. From an Anglo-Saxon king minting a coin with Arabic script to Britain's first purpose-built mosque, he explores the Muslim stories woven through the history of these islands.

Iain Stewart, Executive Director Edinburgh Interfaith Association, shares the story of his daughter Iona and reflects on the support he received from faith communities across Scotland and beyond following her diagnosis with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and her death earlier this year.

And from Cracker and Brookside to Time and Broken, Jimmy McGovern is responsible for some of the most powerful dramas on British television. He shares his Spiritual Life, reflecting on faith, family, Liverpool and the values that continue to shape both his life and his writing.

For this week's Faith Forum panel, Tony is joined by Ewan Aitken, Talat Yaqoob and Dr Eve Poole.

Following a remarkable week of elections and protests around the world, the panel discusses what recent events tell us about democracy.

After last week's Budget, the panel explores compassion fatigue and asks how we continue to care for others in a world full of competing demands for our attention.

And after the final of Celebrity Traitors, the panel considers whether we hold friends and family to different moral standards from everyone else.
