John Amaechi: “The FA has no desire to change”

After the former Aston Villa player Thomas Hitzlsperger reveals he is gay, John Amaechi tells Mark Chapman what football authorities need to do to make it easier for homosexual footballers. His opinion is that "at the moment football looks at itself in the mirror and sees an Adonis when it should see a fat bloke.” Hitzlsperger is the most prominent footballer to publicly reveal his homosexuality and said it was "a good time" to do so.
