Grieve: Internet monitoring bill should do more to protect privacy
It is important that there should be a "clear structure that shows that any intrusion into privacy is going to be necessary and proportionate to a legitimate end", said Conservative MP Dominic Grieve, chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee.
The Committee warned that plans to authorise mass data collection and hacking by Britain's spies do not do enough to protect privacy.
