Workington: It's time for Uppies and Downies
The ultimate no-rules football game returns for its 370th year this Easter weekend. If you're not familiar with this proud local tradition, the goals are two miles apart and it takes place over three days. It likely predates football and Christianity, because its roots have been lost in the mists of time. But for the players and the community It's an important celebration of local identity, which they believe has put Workington on the international map.
