Les Dennis

Actor, presenter and comedian Les Dennis picks 10 songs to soundtrack the stories of his life including Elvis Costello, Ben E.King, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell & The Beatles.

Joining Vernon Kay, Les tells tales of growing up in Liverpool, attending the same school as John Lennon and later meeting Paul McCartney. They discuss Les' early career with Dustin Gee and taking on Family Fortunes, whilst acting in theatre and continuing his love of acting in Waitress the Musical.

Les was born in 1953 in Garston, starting his comedy career in 70s working men's clubs, before winning TV show New Faces and forming a double-act with Dustin Gee. Following that Les began presenting Family Fortunes continuing for fifteen years as a household name. Away from TV he took on theatre roles including Hairspray, Spamalot, productions for the English National Opera and Royal Shakespeare Company and many pantomines. He is currently starring in the UK touring production of Waitress, playing Joe.
