Cheadle's Abney Hall inspired Agatha Christie

Author Agatha Christie visited Abney Hall in Cheadle from childhood because her sister lived there. In 1926, the novelist went missing for 11 days and once found, she was taken to Abney Hall to recover. Trevor Evers from the Cheadle Civic society tells Jen Dale how the country house and grounds inspired plots and locations in several of her detective stories.
