Mum and daughter fund raise raise over £500,000

Lucy Chillery-Watson and her daughter Carmela, from Christchurch, have raised over £500,000 for Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Carmela has LMNA congenital muscular dystrophy – a progressive muscle-wasting condition which affects her movement, heart and lungs.

Lucy is a finalist in the Fundraiser category in the BBC Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards 2026.
