'How I get children growing'

Schools as far as Kent and Newcastle have taken up the project started by Droitwich's Ross Dyke, devised as a way of helping children get active in the garden and experience the mental and physical benefits of growing their own food.

The former Pershore College student provides free kits to primary schools across the country. He also runs his own podcast, roping in guests from Gardener's World and Blue Peter among many walks of green-fingered life.

Ross is a finalist in the BBC Hereford & Worcester Make A Difference Awards 2026, in the Environment category.
