The story of how Kitty Hudson from Arnold came to be known as 'the human pincushion'.
In the 1700s, a girl from Arnold attracted attention from clinicians across the country, as she underwent treatment for a then-peculiar condition - the impulse to swallow non-food objects.
Kitty collected pins from the floor of St Mary's church in Nottingham and eventually started to swallow them.
