Out of Everest’s Shadow:Tenzing Norgay Takes Centre Stage in New Biopic

The historic1953 expedition that reached the summit of Mount Everest in the Himalayas has traditionally given most of the spotlight to New Zealand explorer Sir Edmund Hillary.

But now a new biopic, 'Tenzing,' puts the focus on the Tibetan climber by Hillary's side, Tenzing Norgay.

The movie stars Tibetan actor Genden Phutsok, along with Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe.

Tom Brook met the film's director, Jennifer Peedom, at the Toronto International Film Festival, for Talking Movies.
