Kenya: New Covid-19 lockdown measures imposed
Reports and analysis of the day's political, economic and sports news from across Africa.
Kenya’s president Uhuru Kenyatta has banned all road, rail and air transport into and out of five counties, including the capital Nairobi. The sale of alcohol has also been halted, and restaurants will only be able to offer a takeaway service. It’s due to a recent spike in Covid-19 infections.
Plus, the UNHCR is concerned about the fate of Eritrean refugees who've been forced to flee looted camps in Ethiopia’s Tigray region.
And we bring you an update on recent protests in Senegal, which observers have called the worst civil unrest there in more than a decade.
