The National Union of Malian Workers have started a five-day nationwide strike to press for better pay. The strike has paralysed most of the country’s public and private sectors.
Ghana civil society organisations have called for an independent investigation into the alleged manhandling and assault of a journalist by national security operatives.
And in Cameroon there are growing calls for Frank Biya, the eldest son of Cameroon’s ailing leader Paul Biya to replace his father but the calls are not going down well with some.
