Ahead of Ethiopia’s general elections, Catherine Byaruhanga reports from Ataye, where more than 100 people were killed in inter-ethnic fighting between Amhara and Oromo communities in April. Violence has left more than 2 million people in Ethiopia displaced.

Plus, A Swiss court has sentenced Liberian rebel leader Alieu Kosiah to 20 years in prison for war crimes. He’s the first person to be convicted over atrocities committed during Liberia’s civil conflicts.

In Cameroon, three plantation workers have been sentenced to a year in jail, after they recorded a viral video criticising President Paul Biya’s government.
