Polls close in Ethiopia's elections
The twice-delayed poll is Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's first electoral test since coming to power in 2018.
Millions of Ethiopians have been voting in delayed parliamentary and regional elections, with nearly a fifth of constituencies not taking part due to insecurity.
Plus, less than a week after the death of Zambia’s first President Kenneth Kaunda, the country also has to come to terms with the loss of chief justice Irene Chirwa Mambilima, who has died while on duty in Egypt.
And Gabon shows interest in joining the mostly English-speaking Commonwealth association of nation states.
