Economic woes ahead of Zambia’s election
Zambians will take part in a presidential election in August, with the country’s economic situation a concern for many voters.
The BBC’s Vumani Mkhize reports from Zambia’s capital Lusaka on the economic concerns which are playing on the minds of many voters ahead of August’s election. Zambia defaulted on its sovereign debt last year, becoming the first African nation to do so during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Plus, delegates from Libya’s interim government have been in Berlin discussing efforts to build lasting peace, with representatives of several governments with a stake in the conflict, including the US, Russia, Turkey, France and the UK.
And Angola has modified its constitution, with one change being a guarantee that Angolans living overseas will be able to vote in elections.
