Islamic terrorist group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for an explosion that has killed eight people and injured seventeen in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu. The Gambia's Truth, Reconciliation, and Reparations Commission or TRRC, has released its final report on abuses committed during ex-dictator Yahya Jammeh. Campaigns against gender-based violence have made some gains, but the pandemic has put progress at risk, says Zebib Kavuma, UN Women Deputy Regional Director for East and Southern Africa.
