Deadline to secure Congressional authorisation for Iran war passes

The deadline for Donald Trump to secure authorisation from the US Congress to continue the war against Iran has passed. Under the US constitution, the Trump administration must receive approval from Congress within sixty days of the president's notification of strikes against Iran - or cease hostilities. The US Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth has argued that President Trump does not have to comply with the War Powers Resolution because the cease-fire agreement reached with Iran paused the clock on any such obligation. We take a look at the where the campaign is now heading.
