Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju

Long Player with Steven Rainey

Available for 29 days

As Count Dracula once said, "Listen to them - the children of the night. What music they make!" And who are we to argue with him? By the early 80s, punk in the UK had fractured and diversified into various off-shoots and styles. And one of the most enduring was goth. Over the course of the decade, many would break out the hairspray, the eyeliner, and the black jeans to embrace the darker side of music. And whether they liked it or not, Siouxsie and the Banshees were the ones who wrote the book on goth with their 1981 album Juju. A psychedelic trip into the bowels of darkness, it remains one of their most powerful statements, a nightmarish brew of magic, mystery, and voodoo.
