Available for over a year
From today, GLP-1 weight loss pills will be available for the first time through certain private pharmacies. The pills are expected to provide a cheaper and less invasive alternative to the widely used GLP-1 injections. An estimated 1.6 million people in the UK are already using this medication and its already having an impact on our consumer behaviour. We’ll hear from a listener that contacted us about a long-running dispute with a Sainsbury's Local that is next to his house. Since moving in, his front garden wall has been demolished twice and crashed into six times by Sainsbury's lorries. Now, the constant weight of these lorries is also impacting the structural integrity of his property. Consumer Lawyer Gary Rycroft provides advice on what you can do if you have a dispute with your neighbour. Technology may be woven into almost every part of modern life, but in recent years many consumers have been starting to push back. As a result, a growing market is emerging for products designed to not interrupt your day or demand your attention. These devices are known as intentional or in-between tech, and demand for them is growing. Would you buy a mobile phone or tech product that is intentionally basic? Last month, the government announced proposed reforms to the way we buy and sell houses in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They hope it may solve many things, including the issue of Gazumping. Gazumping is when a seller accepts a higher offer from a buyer, even though they have already accepted an offer from someone else. We’ll hear about what it’s like in Scotland, where Gazumping is close to impossible, and discuss what the new system might look like. PRESENTER: WINIFRED ROBINSON PRODUCER: CHARLIE FILMER-COURT
