DJ Spoony serves up a brilliant selection of classic soul, disco, soulful house, R&B, funk, UK garage, reggae, hip-hop, doo-wop, yacht rock and more. New feature 'Night Fever' got off to a roaring start last week as we went back to some choice 1970s Essex night spots. Every Tuesday a Good Groover takes us back to a treasured club night of their past, whether they were grooving in 70s discotheques, were getting on down in the 80s at the Pink Coconut or Tuxedo Princess, or were raving in the super clubs of the 90s and 00s. We'll get a sense of the lost sights, smells and sounds of the UK's nightlife, whether it was at a local venue or somewhere our listener travelled miles to get to. To share your tales and tunes email spoony@bbc.co.uk. Tuesday night is also Rewind Selector night, where a musician, celebrity or Good Groove listener chooses the tracks that take them back to the dance floors of their youth. Tonight, Broadway and West End theatre star Marisha Wallace picks the tunes and shares her memories. Marisha has become one of the West End’s most celebrated leading ladies, renowned for her powerhouse vocals and captivating stage presence. After making her name on Broadway in productions including Aladdin and Something Rotten!, she went on to star in major London productions such as Dreamgirls (Effie White), Waitress (Becky), Hairspray (Motormouth Maybelle), Oklahoma! (Ado Annie), Guys and Dolls (Miss Adelaide) and Cabaret (Sally Bowles). Her acclaimed performances have earned her two Olivier Award nominations. Marisha has just released a new single, out this week, and is performing at Ronnie Scott’s on the of 11 October.
