Shilpa's first show!

Available for 34 days

New voices and new sounds from the Asian Network. Shilpa takes over Asian Network Represents with a playlist as eclectic as her story. From the Malayalam music she grew up with to Bollywood classics, Punjabi anthems and the songs she has on repeat now, Shilpa explores the music, cultures and memories that have shaped her. Growing up as a Malayali in the UK, Shilpa shares stories of finding her identity through music, from hiding her Indian playlists on BBM to embracing the sounds she once felt embarrassed by. With songs that span generations, languages and genres, this is a celebration of the music that connects us. Produced in Birmingham by Solis Productions for BBC Asian Network.
