Chelsea forest garden takes root in Newcastle
Gilly Hope on BBC Radio NewcastleAvailable for over a year
It’s been a busy gardening month for a North East school which has received a gold medal winning garden from this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower show. The Forgotten Forests Garden illustrates how the Woodland Trust is rescuing our rare ancient woods and it’s been transplanted to the grounds of Hawthorn Primary School in Newcastle where Marian Foster caught up with Head Teacher Jane Dube, Tamara Ullyart from the Woodland Trust and the garden’s designer, Ashleigh Aylett.
