Budget wrap up: Where does it leave us?
Figuring It Out from the World at One & PMAvailable for over a year
The Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) think tank has said that the UK faces the "worst decade for household income growth on record" and that "no amount of temporary cost of living packages" announced in the Budget will fix that. Chancellor John Healey announced a range of measures, including a £100 energy payment for 20 million households in England, and tax rises on some savings and rental profits. But will they have an impact? The World at One's Sarah Montague and PM's Evan Davis figure out and analyse John Healey's first Budget as chancellor.
