In the premiere season of the BBC World Service’s ‘Amazing Sports Stories’, Cassie Campbell-Pascal (Canadian Olympic gold medalist) re-visits the story of 12-year-old Justine Blainey and her fight to overturn the ice hockey establishment’s ban on mixed-sex teams. We follow Justine from her kitchen table all the way to Canada’s highest court of justice as she becomes a national hero for some... and public enemy number one for others. As the series unfolds, Cassie starts to question the narrative she was fed about Justine growing up – one that cast her in a very unflattering light.
