Radio 1
Radio 1 Early Breakfast and Weekend Breakfast autumn commissioning round
Please note, following feedback we have revised our autumn commissioning process for the Radio 1 Early Breakfast and Radio 1 Weekend Breakfast shows, creating two separate commissioning rounds. This gives suppliers the flexibility to submit ideas for one show or both. The shows are based in Salford.
The initial deadline for submissions for both opportunities remains midday on Tuesday 15 September 2026.

Please note, for each brief:
- Suppliers should submit a 500 Word proposal – these will then be short-listed.
- If submitting, please include the budget information.
- The closing date for submissions for both briefs is: midday on Tuesday 15th September.
- We expect the pitching for these titles to take place w/c 12th October 2026.
- With each completed proposal we request some extra information on how you would reflect diversity and inclusion, when replying to this brief

Ad hoc commissions
Radio 2 ‘s rolling Ad-Hoc round is open all year round – for any short proposals (250 words max) for curated music series, documentaries, social action campaigns, special projects or themed seasons. If you have a specific idea for a Radio 2 programme described above, contact Robert Gallacher.

Music On Demand
Between Friends (w/t) visualised podcast brief
We’re looking for a new personality-led music entertainment visualised podcast as part of the Radio 2 brand, designed for BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds. We want an original proposition with its own identity, conceived as a video-first entertainment brand from day one. This opportunity is for one series launching in early 2027.
The deadline for full proposals and production eligibility questionnaires is noon on Wednesday 23 September 2026.
