About This Event

Irresistible rhythm and glittering virtuosity meet orchestral flair in this afternoon of musical fireworks conducted by rising star of classical music, Sasha Scolnik-Brower.

Widely celebrated for bringing classical precision with jazz improvisation to the concert platform, versatile virtuoso Frank Dupree is the perfect partner for Gershwin’s rhythmically vibrant and swaggeringly bluesy Piano Concerto, before Stravinsky transports us to the entrancingly magical fairytale world of The Firebird - experience the mystery and magic of the Orchestra as soft and shimmering strings make way for haunting woodwind melodies and vivid orchestral colour leads to breathtaking power in one of classical music’s most spellbinding and iconic works.

But to start - frenetic energy and a multicultural aural palette radiate in Jessie Montgomery’s bustling depiction of the sounds of New York, the Coincident Dances.
