Did someone say chicken nuggets?

Naming pets is a tricky business - how can we find the best name to our most beloved four-legged companions?

Pet-sitting website Rover has looked at trends in how people name their pets.

They found Chicken Nugget to be the number one name for a cat in the United States.

But does your furry bestie's name appear on the list? Keep reading to find out...

In the US, food seems to play a big theme in trending names.

Coffee, Sardine and Sundae are three of the most popular names for cats, under Chicken Nugget.

And Cannoli is the ninth trendiest name for dogs.

Movies have also had a big influence.

Last year, Elphie - possibly short for Elphaba - was one of the trendiest names, which Rover believed could have been a nod to the Wicked sequel.

Whereas this year, Rumi - the name of the lead character from K-Pop Demon Hunters - has emerged as the trendiest dog name this year according to Rover's data.

In the UK, some of the most popular names for our furry friends might be familiar to you.

Milo is top spot for male dogs and cats, whereas Luna is number one for female dogs and cats.

Rover says the most popular names have "changed very little year-over-year" in their report.

And actually the trending pet names - ones that are rising the ranks very quickly - might tell us more about what is influencing our decisions when naming our pets than the ones that sit in the top spot.
