Holy Women – St Wite

Reverend Virginia Luckett is a regular walker of St Wite’s Way. The Saxon Holy Woman spent her life in prayer on the Dorset coast and, according to legend, saved seafarers from impending doom by lighting beacons along the cliffs. She was martyred by Danish Vikings during a 9th Century raid and is now honoured as patron saint of Dorset. Virginia reflects on how she has found inspiration in St Wite's life and faith.
