Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring from the Baltic Sea Festival

Alex Humphreys presents an afternoon of exclusive music-making from the UK and beyond, with performances captured at two major European festivals. From the Baltic Sea Festival, Dvořák’s lyrical Serenade for Strings in E major is performed by musicians from the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Czech Philharmonic, alongside Stravinsky’s revolutionary The Rite of Spring, with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada. We also hear early music from Il Pomo d’Oro, joined by countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński.
From the East Neuk Festival, the English Concert Winds perform a programme of Mozart, including the Overture to Don Giovanni in Josef Triebensee’s arrangement and the vibrant Serenade in E-flat major.
