First Night of the Proms 2026
Piano superstar Yunchan Lim joins Dalia Stasevska and the BBC Symphony Orchestra for Ravel’s bluesy Concerto in G major. We also hear music by Copland, Gershwin and Finzi, alongside a world premiere from French-British composer Josephine Stephenson
Under African Skies: The Songs of ‘Graceland’
South African vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo make their Proms debut 50 years on from the Soweto Uprising and 40 years since the release of Paul Simon’s era-defining album Graceland, which brought the group to international attention
Miles Davis Centenary
The Proms marks Miles Davis’s centenary with a concert combining his influences – works by Rodrigo and Gershwin – with his own hits. Trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire joins the BBC Concert Orchestra and Miho Hazama for a celebration of a jazz legend
The Met Orchestra Plays Mahler
For their second concert of the season The Met Orchestra is joined by Joyce DiDonato for Mahler’s Rückert- Lieder. We also heard the composer’s nature-loving Symphony No. 4 and Kaija Saariaho’s Lumière et pesanteur
Enchanted: Alan Menken’s Music for Disney
The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra is joined by performers from the National Youth Music Theatre to celebrate the music of Alan Menken, with sets from his scores to classic Disney films such as The Little Mermaid and Aladdin
Berlin Philharmonic Plays Elgar and Tchaikovsky
The Berlin Philharmonic and Chief Conductor Kirill Petrenko return to the Proms with two works filled with musical secrets and concealed identities: Elgar’s ‘Enigma’ Variations and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4
Dudamel and the LA Phil: Beethoven and Adès
The Los Angeles Philharmonic returns to the Proms for the first time in over two decades, led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel. Together they perform Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Symphony and Purgatorio, the first panel from Thomas Adès’s Dante ballet
