Postcards have always symbolised more than just a holiday greeting: they have documented much of the history of the 20th Century. Death of Grand Duke Sergei

This French cartoon dates from February 1905 and shows an assassin holding up the head of the Grand Duke Sergei, uncle to the Tsar Nicholas II.
