Help with the Truth About Food video player
Follow these tips on how to find content and use the application.
If you are experiencing problems it may be because:
- You don't have Flash 8 or a broadband connection.
- Your computer may not have sufficient processing power or memory. (If you have other applications open, try closing these down.)
You will be able to launch the clips on their own using RealPlayer or Windows Media Player alternatives.
Once launched, open up the window to full screen to get the best experience.
- 1. Your choice or editor's choice?
Once the player has opened in a new window decide what do you want to watch. Begin by tailoring the films to your tastes or click the editor's choice to have a selection of films offered to you.
2. Make your selections
Click the tick boxes to select the sort of things you are interested in. You can select as many or as few as you like. By selecting male or female you will be given films that have been specifically edited for you, but you can leave this unselected. When you are ready, click the 'select films' button.
3. Your selections
Your films appear as an animation of food icons, with the most relevant appearing in the foreground. Roll over the icon for details on the film and its duration. Click to play. If you are not happy with your selections you can change them by clicking the 'change my films' tab.
4. Links in the films
As you watch the films you will be given links to related information on bbc.co.uk and the web. When you click these you will be taken to the page and your film will pause. The links automatically display or you can roll over the icon. Click the 'x' top right to return to your selections.
5. Films you have watched
To return to films you have watched clcik the bottom left tab. This gives you quick access to films to watch again. Your session will remain so you can access them the next time you use the player.
6. Tell a friend
Think that someone you know might be interested in the Truth About Food? Click 'tell a friend' and you can send them the link directly to that film. Click the 'x' to return to your film choice.
