Southend United secured their place in the National League play-offs with a 2-0 win at Aldershot.

A bright start for the Shrimpers saw Gus Scott-Morriss hit a strike wide and Oliver Coker had an effort saved.

They found the opener in the 35th minute when Scott-Morriss fired a free-kick past goalkeeper Pat Nash and Charley Kendall doubled their advantage in the second minute of first-half stoppage-time.

Coker went close twice after the break and Tyler Frost had an effort saved for the Shots, who finished the game with 10 men after Sam Inwood was sent-off in the third minute of added time.
